Best tools to perform iOS → PC data transfer Best tools to perform iOS → PC data transfer

Since Apple builds its own devices and operating systems, you can imagine that it doesn't exactly easy for Windows users to transfer files to and from their iPhones and iPads. The iTunes application even works much slower on PC than it does on Mac, and facing all these difficulties can be quite annoying. This is why, I've decided to compile a short list of some of the tools that can easily perform iOS to PC data transfer.

WinX MediaTrans

Considered by many to be one of the best tools of its kind currently available on the market, WinX MediaTrans is designed to help users transfer music, photo and video files between their PCs and iOS devices. What's really cool about this application is that it acts like a proper file manager, allowing users to organize their files, rename them, change the metadata, rotate and convert videos, etc. By the way, the converting capabilities of the program are really superior: it is capable of converting among many formats, including 4K, MKV, AVI, MP4 for the playback on iOS devices. So, you don't need any third-party converters be installed. Another big advantage for this tool is the file transferring speed, which is quite impressive, being faster than the one offered by iTunes.

You should also know that even though WinX MediaTrans doesn't rely on iTunes for files transfer, it still requires having the Apple's application installed on your PC. If you're curious about how to use this tool, you actually don't need to worry as it features a well-designed GUI: simply connect the iPhone to your PC through a cable, then the tool will automatically identify the device, taking you to the main menu. Once there, you shouldn't have any troubles finding your way around. As far as I'm concerned, the only possible drawback of WinX MediaTrans is its price, but when you compare it to the extensive functionality that you're getting, it's not that bad.

Appandora

Appandora is another effective file transfer solution. This application is actually a bit more complex and doesn't only allow you to transfer files between your PC and iPhone or iPad, but also between Android devices and computers. Furthermore, with this tool you can download videos from numerous video-sharing websites, create ringtones and convert video or audio files. Lastly, even though Appandora is clearly just a clone of an other tool called Syncios, I prefer using it because it's completely free.

iMazing

Although Violette already talked about this tool in her article "Mobile Data Transfer. Part II: iOS → PC", iMazing should never be ignored when writing a story about the best tools for transferring files between Windows computers and iOS devices. This application gives you complete control over the files from your iOS device, allowing you to easily manage them from your PC. Furthermore, this tool also lets you save backups, contacts, messages and other data to your PC. Unfortunately, if you want to unlock iMazing's full functionality you will need to pay at least $35.
