Microsoft 365's Copilot, an AI-powered tool designed to completely transform our work process, is now finally being gradually introduced to Teams. With the aim of improving productivity, the artificial intelligence assistant now boasts the ability to generate initial drafts, summarize emails, offer reply suggestions, and provide real-time meeting summaries. This will help Teams Phone and Teams Chat users manage their discussions efficiently. Even though the usage of Copilot is currently limited to individuals who have been granted access to the early access program for the project, Microsoft plans to add the tool to a wide range of its Office apps. That includes Word, Excel, Outlook, and other tech giant’s products.

What can Copilot do?

Microsoft promises that Copilot integrated into Teams Phone and Teams Chat will be a game changer for productivity. The Teams Phone users will now have access to real-time summarized insights provided by the tool during their calls. They can also communicate with the AI-assistant using a natural language input to make quick notes for themselves or highlight important details during the call. This feature is especially helpful for writing follow-up emails or getting suggestions for next steps.

In addition to Teams Phone integration, Microsoft has also introduced Copilot capabilities in Teams Chat. If you're drowned in a flood of chat messages, the tool can come to the rescue by answering specific questions, summarizing conversations, and identifying key points for you. By providing Copilot with a look-back period of up to 30 days, you can get a comprehensive summary of any conversation that took place – perfect for catching up on missed discussions. What’s more, the assistant can create tables that break down essential information like roles, relationships between products or tasks, work feature, as well as issues. It's like having your own personal note-taker who understands your needs.

When will Copilot be available?

Microsoft 365 Copilot is currently in its early access program and is available to participants who have enrolled in it. Microsoft is actively conducting tests with approximately 600 customers to ensure a smooth and reliable experience before making it available to a wider audience. Unfortunately, an exact release date for the broader launch has not been provided yet.

How much will Copilot cost?

Microsoft 365 Copilot sounds like an incredibly powerful tool. However, those considering adopting this cutting-edge technology will need to prepare themselves for a significant financial investment. This advanced assistant will be priced at $30 per user per month, available to Microsoft 365 E3, E5, Business Standard, and Business Premium customers. With this additional cost, Microsoft 365 E3 subscribers will see their expenses nearly double if they wish to enjoy the benefits of these AI-powered functionalities. For Microsoft 365 Business Standard users, this increase is even more substantial, as it represents almost triple the cost at $12.50 per user per month.
